Show Us Your Life- "Show Us Your Hometown"

I may be a California Girl, but my new adopted hometown is a "Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made Of".....the big city of New York!

NYC is truly the city that never sleeps.... always on the move- Most people know about the Big Apple tourist spots, but here are some of my favorite places:

Madison Avenue - Upper East Side

-I love to walk down Madison Avenue, people watching, going into the boutiques, especially the Lilly Pulitzer store! It is such a more quiet area of the city, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists.

Central Park

-Central Park is truly beautiful in any season! The bright orange and yellow leaves on the trees is my favorite time to head out to the park in the Fall. But I also love the great relaxation in the sun the park provides in the summer!

Crumbs Bake Shop

-Delish gourmet cupcakes, HUGE cupcakes, and more tasty in my opinion than the Magnolia cupcakes which are also famous in NYC. I love a good Red Velvet, and Crumbs does not disappoint!

Chelsea Market

-A great celeb spotting spot, and a great find! Many great restaurants, stores, florists, a nice refuge and escape in the afternoon- fantastic coffee at Ninth Street Espresso as well when you need a caffeine boost!

I am definitely a Californian, but am proud to say I am a New Yorker!

Happy Weekend! Well, It's 'Show Us Your Life" on Kelly's Korner again, and this week it is "What Is Your Typical Day Like?"

Well, here is mine!.......

6:00- Usually wake up, with no alarm clock needed- It is both a blessing and a curse!
Watch the news on TV, see what the weather is like.... debate on gong to the gym. I really have no excuse, but the bed is oh so cozy!

7:00- Up and out of bed and in the shower, or after the gym and into the shower. Blow dry hair, make up, COFFEE, Iron my day's outfit, BREAKFAST (the most important meal of the day!).

8:25- On my way to work.... walk to the subway.....

8:45- Into work... get situated, check email, add anything to my daily to-do list.

1:00pm-ish- Walk across the street for lunch- grab and go!!

6:00pm- LEAVE WORK! Woo hoo.... walk back to the subway... make my daily phone calls...

6:45pm- Dinner! And then Skype with my Family.... (Best part of the day!)

8:00pm- DVR (Second best part of the day!)

10:00pm- Bedtime!!!!! Gotta get my beauty sleep for the next eventful day!!

The Bilzzard of 2010

Well, I survived my official first blizzard! The Blizzard of 2010 in New York! NYC public schools were closed today, and basically the whole city shut down! But life does go on, so I trudged to work as the snowflakes fell this morning. As I walked outside, all bundled up- rain boots and all.... I lost my hat to the gale force wind and my umbrella blew inside out... what a way to start the day! But I made it to the snow through the quiet city..... the office was bare bones today, funny how the city shuts down and native NYCers and East Coasters can't make it into work, but a California Girl makes it!

This is my 'snowman' I made on my balcony.... my very first snowman or 'snow gal' EVER! Of course I had to jazz it up a bit! Here she is flashing her raisin tooth smile, wearing her best pearls of course!

I am a beauty product junkie- high end, bargains, infomericals..... advertising definitely works on me- I am always trying new products!

Face

My beauty face routine has recently changed- I got my first facial at Bliss Spa in December, and it seriously changed my life- no joke! The winter cold weather has been drying my skin out more than the Sahara Desert, so I was in desperate need of a makeover. I know am loving the Youth As We Know It cleanser, and Skin Ceuticals Vitamin C serum, and my favorite of all time moisturizers, La Mer, and La Roche-Posay

As far as make up goes- I pretty much use the basics, Bare Essentuals make up, Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, and my love of Lip Gloss.... I have so many, it is my weakness... but I do love the Victoria's Secret line of lip glosses- they are super cheap, taste yummy! My fave color is 'Cupquake'- they are the best!

I love to shop- and I LOVE a great sale!! I am all about Target (love their clearance), Zappos (all my shoes come from here), and my preppy faves - Ann Taylor LOFT, J. Crew, and of course, Lilly!!!.... and lately, I have been loving Forever 21 or accessories, and Ralph Lauren's Rugby- Rugby has the best sales!
